| I
ventured into Schutzhund with my third dog, a male
German import Quito Vom Karanberg. I got him as a
puppy in 2002. By 2005 at the age of 4 years, he
had passed the assessment for Schutzhund 1, 2 & 3
(Protection) under three different SV Judges. For
the Singapore Schutzhund scene, this was a milestone
event. |

|
| I started
training German Shepherds in 1995, when I was 18.
My first dog, a male GSD was trained to the Intermediate
level of obedience and basic protection. I was
more successful with my next female GSD. I
competed successfully with her in Singapore Kennel Club
Obedience & Agility Trials. She achieved the title
of Companion Dog Excellent and SKC Agility Dog Of The
Year 2002. She also achieved her title of BH under
an SV Judge in 2005. |

| Hungry
for more, I got my first bitch from pure working
bloodlines in 2005. Gaja Anrebri came to me from
the Czech Republic at the age of 14mths. She had a
lot of promise, but unfortunately poor foundation
training. Nevertheless, with a lot of
training and perseverance from me, she achieved her
title of BH and Schutzhund 1 (Obedience & Protection)
under an SV Judge in 2006. |

At the
same assessment, two other GSDs, Dan Gastanovy Hajik and
Tixi Jipo Me also achieved the titles of BH and
Schutzhund 1 (Obedience & Protection).
I am proud to say that all three dogs were trained by me
or under my guidance, and were the first dogs to ever
achieve the title of Schutzhund 1 (Obedience &
Protection) in Singapore.

| In
February 2007, I tried my hand at breeding what was
Singapore’s first litter of pure working bloodline GSDs.
Of this litter of six, I was lucky to find a very good
training prospect in a sable male Axel Vom Drachenherz.
He is my latest training project and is showing much
promise in both Obedience & Protection. I hope
that he will be ready to achieve his BH and Scutzhund 1
titles in the next 2 years. He will also be Breed
Surveyed, and hopefully put to stud. |

| I joined
the German Shepherd Dog Club of Singapore in 1995.
Two years later, I was recruited as a trainer and into
the Management Committee. I have been the
President since 2005 and the Director of Training since
2002. I have also served on the Board of Directors
of the SKC since 2006. |
